Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale is a distinguished Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2003 batch, serving in the Chhattisgarh cadre. Inspired by her father, a respected Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, she pursued a career in public service with dedication and vision. An alumna of Nagpur University, she earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with First Division and secured 11 gold medals for academic excellence.

Throughout her illustrious career, Mrs. Kangale has held several pivotal positions. She began her administrative journey as Assistant Collector in Durg, gaining invaluable grassroots experience. She later served as Collector in the districts of Durg, Dantewada, and Korba, implementing critical development initiatives and enhancing administrative efficiency. Her tenure as Director of Education and Director of Mineral Resources showcased her leadership in policy implementation and resource management. As Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, she championed the rights of marginalized communities, spearheading welfare schemes to uplift their socio-economic status.

In January 2020, Mrs. Kangale became the Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh, the first woman to hold this esteemed position in the state. Her meticulous planning and execution of electoral processes, particularly in sensitive regions like Bastar, set a new benchmark for electoral governance. Her leadership ensured unprecedented security measures, fostering free and fair elections even in challenging areas. During her tenure as Collector of Durg, she took decisive action against private schools engaging in exorbitant fee collection, imposing substantial fines and reinforcing the principles of justice and ethical governance. Her career reflects an unwavering commitment to public service, excellence, and equity, inspiring many within the administrative fraternity and beyond.
