Dr. Partha Pratim Majumder is a preeminent figure in the field of human genetics and genomics. He is the founder of the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) in Kalyani, near Kolkata, India, and serves as a Distinguished Professor at the John C. Martin Centre for Liver Research and Innovation. Dr. Majumder's academic credentials include a BStat (Hons), MStat, and PhD from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, followed by post-doctoral work at the University of Texas Health Science Centre, Houston. His research has been instrumental in advancing the understanding of human population genetics and the genomics of complex diseases. In recognition of his contributions, he has been appointed as a National Science Chair by the Government of India and is listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in the field of Genetics and Heredity.
